Tour Details

Hamyang is a small village in Gyeongsangnam-do that has Chilseon Valley, one of the three most famous valleys in Korea.

It is 2 hours from Busan and 1 hour from Gwangju.

It’s a three day trip that is filled with activities centered on cultural experiences, environmental protection, and traditional Korean games. We will make unforgettable memories with you for three days in Hamyang.

 

Traditional local Village Tour

Take a tour around the town of Seonbi (traditional Korean Scholars), enjoy a cup of tea and peaceful serenity of the scholar town

Enjoy local festivals and join as a seller in the flea market

The wild ginseng festival, one of the biggest festivals in Gyeongsangnam-do, takes place annually in Hamyang. Participate in various programs, contribute to the local community by selling antiques at the flea market.

Night Picnic Stargazing

Relaxing stargazing in rural villages free from all the city lights. Let’s look for your zodiac sign together!

Making and Eating Korean Vegan Food

Try making and eating Korean food such as vegetable pancakes and BBQ

Korea’s Best Valley Trekking

Walk along the beautiful silky valley of Seonbi-road, picking up any rubbish you see on the way. (Subject to weather conditions.)

Networking party

Meet-up with local residents, businesses, and other participants of the festival. Hang out and bond with all sorts of people, and make new friends!

What to Expect

A trip for those that love nature and want to learn more about Korean Culture outside of Seoul.

Itinerary

Fri (Sep 8) 12:00 ~ 12:30Meet at Hamyang Bus Terminal

After a three hour bus ride arrive at Hamyang Bus terminal to start your journey.

13:00 ~ 14:00Lunch Time

We’ll eat lunch at a local restaurant. 

14:20 ~ 16:20Valley Trekking and Orientation

Visit a Geoyeonjeong Pavilion to have orientation before setting out for valley trekking.

17:00 ~ 17:40Arrive at accommodation

Arrive at the house of Lee Oisoo, one of the most beloved Korean writers. The house was personally decorated by Lee Oisoo and his wife before his passing, and is currently owned by the Hamyang County Office. For the first time, the Hamyang County Office has granted permission to use this house as lodging for a social trip. It retains a beautiful ambiance, resembling a tranquil countryside villa, offering perfect facilities and atmosphere to those who visit.

Cook some Korean barbeque while chat then playing games before heading off to bed

Sell things at the flea market with the money earn going to donations to help the community.

14:00 ~ 18:00Enjoy the Festival (Free Time)

Enjoy the festival by interacting with the local and eating delicious food.

18:00 ~ 22:00Dinner

Eat dinner with the locals at the festival while enjoying entertaining performances.

20:10 ~ 21:30Stargazing

If weather conditions allow, enjoy a break under the night sky with stargazing.
