We’re thrilled to announce that Planet Zoom has yet again delivered an incredible 3-day, 2-night trip to the beautiful southern region of South Korea. This time, we celebrated the arrival of autumn with a special themed trip to Hamyang. Join us to explore unique activities and experiences that only Hamyang can offer. If you haven’t been on a trip to Hamyang yet, you’re truly missing out. Check out our pervious blog posts for information on other trips and volunteer opportunities with Planet Zoom!
Our journey began with delicious lunch of bossam, rice, soup, and a variety of 반찬 (side dishes) after arriving in Hamyang in the afternoon. Feeling satisfied, we headed to the Confucian Scholar Jeong Yeo-Chang’s residence from the 15th-century Joseon Dynasty. The location was also used as a set for popular TV drams like ‘Mister Sunshine’ and ‘The Man who Became the King’. Whether you’re taking pictures, exploring, or even recreating a scene from a drama, this is a must-visit destination. The 일두고탁 is full of history that you don’t want to miss out on.
After our enlightening experience, we proceeded to our accommodation to settle in before our BBQ. The rest of the night was filled with laughter, mingling, food, drinks, and getting to know each other better. It was a fun and exciting way to end Day 1.
After a two-hour harvest, we stopped for lunch with our newfound friends, before taking a break at a picturesque cafe. The views were breathtaking, and we even saw some cats lounging in the sun. Refreshed, we continued our journey with more sightseeing of traditional buildings and temples, immersing ourselves in the history and beauty of Hamyang. Finally, we returned to our accommodation for a brief rest before dinner.
As our last day in Hamyang arrived, we knew our time would be brief. We started our day with a hearty breakfast, energizing us for what was to come. Our first stop was 은행마을, as we made our way to Samrim park for our final activity. We decided to draw each other’s portraits, taking turns adding features and passing it around until everyone had a chance to contribute. It was an enjoyable experience surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the park. Afterward, we shared our final meal in Hamyang before making our way to the Hamyang Bus Terminal, preparing to go our separate ways. What was once an exciting three-day adventure had now become a cherished memory.
